Ms. Steen will work closely with the MPIs, mentors, Ms. Null and Ms. Jana to organize recruitment, interviewing, and will be closely involved in all onboarding processes. She will coordinate logistic details to ensure the trainees’ individualized research leadership plans are executed and that the GIDRTP is meeting stated benchmarks. Ms. Steen has worked in similar capacity for three NIH funded training grants.

Tupokigwe Jana-
Grants Administrator at KCRI. Ms. Jana will provide financial administrative support to Dr. Mpagama, the mentors, the Training Advisory Committee, and the trainees by ensuring timely stipend payment and travel expense support. Ms. Jana has worked with UVA’s offices of research administration for several years. This kind of conversational ease and longtime working relationship among administrators cannot be understated
Megan Null
Megan Null, MPH
Onsite Project Administrator. Ms. Null is a research specialist in the Heysell research group at UVA but living full-time in Moshi, Tanzania. Ms. Null has more than a decade of laboratory bench research and laboratory administrative experience working with many partners in East Africa. Ms. Null will work closely with Ms. Jana from KCRI for day-to-day administrative needs of the GIDRTP but also with the MPIs for project monitoring and evaluation, and data curation.
